Josh Hackett is the owner of Northwest Mattress Outlet. With about 6 years of furniture and mattress sales, management, and ownership coupled with an impressive 8 months of community college, I'm about as professional as it gets! My main objective is simple. Provide my customers with the best bed possible, while keeping them under their budget. Easy. I know my website focuses primarily on my mattress store & factory seconds stuff, but that's just a small portion of my business. For those not interested in factory seconds, I have a handful of GREAT local mattress manufacturers to choose from, all 20%-40% below other retail mattress store prices. For an identical mattress! I also have a great selection of gel and regular memory foam mattresses, and adjustable beds. For my factory seconds/outlet inventory I sell all name brand mattresses for a fraction of what you'd expect to spend at a big box retail mattress store. We're able to offer such deep discounts because we specialize in one of a kind, over runs, scratched, factory blemished, overstock, and discontinued name brand beds. We are simply the best mattress store in Portland and Beaverton.
Homie Don't Play That
Another HUGE positive I provide is not having a big flashy showroom. Low overhead = More money in YOUR pocket! Our new mattress store location is in Beaverton off Farmington and Watson. This is more of a retail spot than a warehouse. My prices are the same as they were when I was operating out of the mattress store in Sherwood, again, I'm smart (extremely) in where I choose my locations to keep my rent and overhead down. Parking and receiving my inventory is not ideal, but I couldn't pass up the central convenience and overall frontage for the price.
Northwest Mattress Outlet also does not have sales people, nor will I ever have sales people. I believe in treating people like human beings. When customers enter my mattress store, my goal is to educate them, my prices sell the beds for me, so there's absolutely no pressure to buy. Customer satisfaction is one thing I will never compromise, so if I end up losing a sale every once in a while because I don't know all the tricky sales techniques, I'm fine with that. I am a NO Frills discount/outlet mattress store, no games, no surprises. Happy customers, and most importantly, building long term relationships with them is what truly excites me about my business. This is why when you come into my mattress store, I'll greet you like an old friend and treat you that way as well.
Let Me Drop Some Knowledge
The end of 2012 has been extremely interesting for me. I decided to simplify my business even more than it already was. I shut down my Sherwood warehouse location, not because sales were suffering, but because the direction I'm wanting to take my business is not a warehouse direction. I felt it reflected negatively on the branding of Northwest Mattress Outlet, so I've gotten a much "warmer" location here in downtown Beaverton and things couldn't be better. I got a killer price on the store so I haven't increased my price points or anything, and actually, I've brought in some amazing local manufacturers that have allowed me to lower my prices, while providing a better product. All backed by their manufacturer's warranty.
Great mattress at an amazing price, spectacular eye candy while picking out your mattress, free backrubs, complimentary protein shakes, hilarious jokes to keep the positive energy and awkwardness flowing, and so many other benefits that will blow your mind.
